Norwegian Passport Photos :: Requirements

Below is an outline of Norwegian Passport Photo Requirements. For more information visit the Norwegian Visa and Passport web site

• Norwegian passport photos must be sharp, clear and of good quality
• Norwegian passport photos must be printed on high resolution, quality photo paper
• Black & white or color are accepted for Norwegian passport photos
• Norwegian passport photos must be 35-40 mm (approx. 1 1/2 inch) wide
• Norwegian passport photos be no more than 6 months old, and resemble the applicant
• The passport photos be taken directly from the front, and against a light background
• Norwegian passport photos must show the entire head and the top of the shoulders
• The face must occupy 70-80 % of the Norwegian passport photo
• The photo must show the eyes open and in clear view
• No hair must cover the eyes in Norwegian passport photos
• Mouth must be closed for Norwegian passport photos
• Glasses are permitted in Norwegian passport photos but the eyes must still be clearly visible
•  The lenses must not be tinted and the frames must not obscure any part of the eyes
• There must not be any reflection in the lenses
• Head-dress for religious reasons is permitted in Norwegian Passport Photos
• Both the chin, forehead and both cheeks must be visible in Norwegian Passport Photos
• The head-dress also must not cast any shadows across the face
